No it's not. My "advice" on that has nothing to do with being represented by ALPA or not represented by ALPA. It is simply advice, based on my experience and observations, designed to keep a new hire out of trouble in the first place.
I've seen first hand how management takes a dim view of anyone who is critical of ALPA. Openly supporting DPA is obviously critical of ALPA. I simply don't think that's something that would be smart for a probationary pilot to do at this company. I'm not surprised that some here would try to spin it in an effort to play "gotcha."
Oh I think you're giving solid advice. It's still ironic though in my opinion.
