Dave,
Thank you for this post. I was one who was very angry when the company informed us paper pay stubs were no longer going to be mailed because:
1) I have experienced frequent IT problems when trying to view and especially print my pay stubs. (I recently applied for a loan and had to print copies: PITA for sure.)
2) Having the stub show up in the mail was a perfect opportunity for me to do a quick check to see if what I expected to be there was there, and in the last year this has saved me several hundred dollars in mistakes that the company made in reimbursements. Without paper stubs actually showing up in front of my face I'd have to have the personal discipline to view the online document on a regular basis.
3) I hope that the incredibly stupid and wasteful 2 page format of our current pay stub would be simplified back to a 1 page advice sheet once the company is forced to pay double postage for every advice they send. (I asked a person from payroll if I paid the postage and was told that the company pays. She might be wrong but that is what I was told.)
Anyways,
Thank-you!
