I don't understand how they're horrible. Should I add more CFI time? Using those numbers you could spend 100 hours each on private and instrument and still have 50 left for commercial stuff. As a 141 instructor, I don't think I ever signed off a commercial student with more than 250 hours. The extra in Part 61 is mostly instrument and commercial XC.
