Whatever it may cost the company (there are more simulator periods per visit but the visits are fewer so that is mitigated somewhat) it is a boon to those of us in the trenches. We had AQP in my prior life at ATA and it was a far, far better use of time than the old 'pistol to the head' simulator mentality of the past. Even further back, in the USAF C-141 world, the approach on the pre-brief was "OK, you are Q-3. Now let's see if you can work your way out of it"! I know, I'm dating myself. ;-)
