Because people have pride in their job regardless of what their future plans are. I've taken my job seriously and wanted the company to succeed at all of the little odd minimum wage jobs I've worked in my life. Skywest is no different. Despite the fact that I will leave Skywest I still have pride in my job and want the company to improve.
If every employee had a "screw this place I plan to move on" attitude the company would fail pretty fast. Look at Expressjet and Endeavor.
I'm not sure why that even has to be explained to you. Are you really that sheltered?
