What industry are you headed to? Best of luck, don't leave with any sick time. I agree about flows, I think 100% of mainline new hires should come from a flow in seniority order. No more special candidates getting to skip their turn in line and get hired after 9 months in an RJ when guys with 10k TPIC can't get called.
I disagree. There are a lot of lazy RJ Captains, and a lot of FOs who hustle. I would much rather the motivated FO get the job than the guy who sat on his ass, doesn't update his logbook, and ***** the whole time.
I was an FO for 4 years, I flew with some great CAs (almost all who moved on, the ones who didn't it was a personal choice it seems) and a lot of guys I would not want to fly with again and IMO give such a crap about the job they do. They lack people/customer service skills, don't care about saving the CO money, wear dirty, old uniforms, etc.
If you look at a seniority list of your typical commuter, you'll have the top 20% or so be lifers, than a large gap in employee numbers after them to the fairly newly upgraded guys. The guys at the top have had
ample time to move on.
