You're not trying out for America's Next Top Model, and Delta (hopefully) will choose what I wear for the next 22 years. I personally believe that as long as you are well groomed and present a professional image with your attire, the clothing will not factor into your hiring decision.
Yeah I never knew there was a gouge on what to wear. I went to a nice suit shop and told them to make me look good. I ended up wearing a navy blue suit with stripes in it and a burgundy/gray tie. On the psych day I actually wore a gray shirt with the suit instead of a white one. I still got hired so I guess as long as you look like you didn't pick your suit up from Goodwill you should be good.
