I guess times have changed since the late 70s when I showed up wearing tan slacks and dark blue sport coat and tie. ATL Chief Pilot Captain Plato Ryan (wearing exactly the same style tan slacks and dark blazer) jokingly asked if had not gotten the memo....told him I heard about the dark suit but I had just gotten out of AF and couldn't afford to buy a brand new suit.....and if that is what it took to get hired I guess Delta wasn't for me. When the interview concluded he shook my hand and welcomed me to Delta and said "nice dress choice". Over my career when I would see/meet him I would joking remind him and he always remembered me. So I sure hope Delta is getting to regimented in the 10 years since I retired.
