I don't know the pay history behind the 737 but while they may be sized similar, the 737s are in fact bigger - especially when you consider that there are only 10 737-700s.
319 -126 passengers
320 - 150 passengers
737-700 - 124 passengers
737-800 - 160 passengers
737-900 - 180 passengers
The airbus fleet is approximately 50% 319/320 averaging about 139 seats.
The 737 fleet currently averages over 161 seats which will rise to about 169 seats when we have all the 900s.
