Should be given to EVERY pilot that gets a commercial license. IMHO
One must know where we've been, to apprecaite where were at; and to know where we're going.

+1!!
Frontier has great employees and I'm not trying to rain on anyone's hopes of coming to work here, but...
This is the airline industry. I rode the Airside bus with UAL 757/767 Capts. who were making less than me through the duration of their concessionary (Chapter 11 and CBA rejection via 1113) contract. They were being worked to the FARs with few protective work rules, lost at least half of their pensions, lost hourly rate and were generally pi$$ed.
When I hear pilots complaining, especially on public message boards, about their lot in life, I have to wonder why they continue to work against their own self interests EVERY TIME management (or the government) gives them the chance.
Make no mistake; as a pilot you are a blue collar hourly employee. You don't like working at Walmart; get a job at Costco - or work to make Walmart better. We get paid what we can negotiate and so does management. It's almost a zero sum game. The more management gets, the less we, or the shareholders, get (guess how that will turn out?)
I have a great time at work - most days, and would rather do this than any other job I've had, but it's a job and has to be evaluated from the perspective of any business or investment decision.
Our new pilots effectively make up a "B" scale since pilots who've been on property have the spoils of the spinoff, and they don't. Will management exploit this? You betcha!
If you're coming to Frontier please take into consideration the history of what those who came before you have given, and need to get back, when you look at where the contract sits now.

And if you join our ranks PLEASE don't be taken in by management's inevitable attempts to divide or group and get 50.0001% of the vote on any prospective changes.
Hourly wages are great, but being able to manipulate your schedule more than most and the host of work rules we DO have didn't come cheap.
Rant over--- Best of luck to all of us!
