You and your "conspiracy" theories are comical!! Pay banding at LCAL was the product of contract 97. CAL went from a longevity based pay (i.e.- UPS) to a pay band because of the Merger proposal from Delta. It was done because we were only protected under Allegheny/Mohawk not ALPA merger policy! And pay banding was a compromise to go from a Longevity system to a Differential system. (Not an easy "sale job" since guys wanted to stay on the Longevity system!)So was it to help us in future Merger proposals? Yes! Did JP think of it helping us in the SLI with LUAL 13 yrs in the the future? I don't know. But, you sure do give JP a lot of praise for his skill set in maneuvering to get LCAL every benefit in the SLI!!
