These guys pick up a couple of thousand hours and think every airline in Asia is gonna falling over themselves to hire them just because they have an A320 or an NG type.
I think the advise you gave him was sound, but 2800tt and no PIC or time in type isn't going to get you anywhere expect a regional job in the USA.
