You're absolutely right, it is a damn shame, but how can anyone realistically expect pilot "unity"? This is as much of a myth as a pilot "shortage". But, on the most basic, human level this is devastating news for us all. BUT, the beef ultimately doesn't rest with any one particular pilot group.
