Alas--the inconsistency I mentioned (when I clarified with my panel the retired Capt said, "yes, busted checkride or busted any formal training". While I agree with you that UPT checkrides shouldn't count, the only opinions that matters are the folks on the interview panel who are doing the scoring. If you clarify you should be good. If you don't clarify and your panel happens to see it differently, you may find yourself in a jam.
