To the OP, are you trying to become a professional pilot?

If so, just the leave the weapon at home when flying. If you have ONE SINGLE incident with possession of a firearm, you will NEVER be hired by any airline. This would include on flight school property/aircraft if their rules preclude it. Most employers and schools today categorically preclude firearms on-site due to liability. Even if no laws were broken, you don't want a reference check turning up the fact that you were fired or expelled for firearms possession...you'd better off with multiple DUIs, seriously.
