IMO, allowing any kind of OOBWSing, OOBSing, etc. effects total manning for the airline in a negative way because it evens out the flying and management doesn't have to do a thing. I know there is a fine line in all of this with QOL but I believe the current system we have with OOBWSing and no OOBSing is a good compromise.
I completely understand, but I didn't think the survey was asking us if wanted to roll back OOBWS. I was restricting myself to discussing the plethora of concessions that the survey is putting on the table, including the introduction of OOBS.

I feel strongly that a base's flying belongs to the base, and is on loan to the pilot that rightfully bids it. If he doesn't fly it, for whatever reason, it belongs in open time. The company has already mechanisms, including OOBWS and DH for Reserves, to get around that, for a net negative staffing impact.

I think you and I strongly agree that we don't need to give them any more tools to reduce staffing.
