I'm glad there is support written in a letter, but what is this response they speak of?
XJT and ASA can't even come together as two separate pilot groups to put together a contract, yet they think they will be able to respond to American and help Envoy?
Political posturing....
That email was from the xjt MEC, not from the ASA MEC. Each MEC is independent and can do what they feel is in the best interest of the profession regardless of the other MEC. This is not about anything other than solidarity amongst the dozen regional MECs, including xjt and ASA separately.
Here is an email from an LEC:

The Fight Continues
Yesterday American Airlines management, through PSA Airlines, announced the transfer of a significant number (47) of CRJ aircraft from Eagle/Envoy. While this was disguised as a restructuring of the small-jet feed for American, it was nothing more than a blatant attack on the Eagle/Envoy pilots and our profession as well.
The Eagle/Envoy pilots and the pilots of legacy ExpressJet have shared a special relationship, not only as a result in the similarities in our business model but also due to similarities in our contract maturity. Both pilot groups have worked hard to earn their contracts and the benefits they provide to our pilots. And both pilot groups have had to fight to keep our contracts from being gutted.
Your Local Council representatives have been in contact with our counterparts at the Eagle/Envoy MEC and we plan to coordinate a response to this whipsawing of pilots by American Airlines management. While no plans have been finalized, no options that are legal are off the table to respond to this threat. Previously taboo, legal actions taken to respond to these moves have and will continue to be discussed and evaluated should American management go through with these plans.
It is important to understand that the work we started by voting down a hugely concessionary JCBA is not over. The actions taken by American management will have an impact on all airline pilots if it proceeds unchecked. For those of you who have friends at Eagle/Envoy, take the time to reach out to them, to learn from them, and to let them know they are not alone in this fight.
