Yes this is about economics, but only partially. AAG can afford to double eagle's contract. They don't "need" any of the cuts they say they do. They WANT them. They also realize if the pilots stand their ground, everyone else will too (except you, PSA...) and that will cost them in other labor negotiations.
It's not about me, it's about what's right. Doing what's right is rarely the "easiest" choice by the standards of the world. That is why people lacking courage rarely do it.
