Who said you had to take 100k in loans in order to start at a 20k regional job? Did you do your homework beforehand? You could just as well have gotten a part time job (or a full time job) and paid-as-you-go. Private, Instrument, Commercial-Single, and CFI could all have been obtained this way. There are ways to start a regional pilot career. Not everyone starts off with a 100k debt with a loan. And since you took a loan, you are responsible for paying it off. You must have known what regional airlines paid before you started? Why do you expect tax payers to bail you out for your decisions?
This. I don't feel for anyone 100k in debt making 20k wages. You should've done your homework beforehand, and saw it's not finically feasible. You wouldn't go and spend 100k on a house without seeing it a few times, doing your research on its past, getting it inspected for termites right? I'm not supporting low wages by any means, but I also don't support feeding into schools such as Riddle, nor do I feel bad for people I know currently at Riddle who don't know what they are getting themselves into to.
