Right now, the only place the 777 goes out of MSP is to NRT, and that's one of our shorter days, only about 11 hours, i.e. well within the reach of an A330.

They must be going to add many more 777 destinations out of MSP...?

I heard the 747 (or what's left of them) was going to take a lot of the DTW-China stuff and for our October trips, we are seeing the 777's pick up lots of the 747 stuff (ATL-NRT, NYC-TLV, NRT-JFK).

Some times I think they guys in Crew Resources and Network mix this stuff every couple years, just to justify their own existence.
