A: Attrition and B: New hire classes for me to fully believe their staffing debacle.

I hope that if any new airframes come to L-ASA that it is not at the cost of another pilot group.
As of Jan 10, 2014 the most junior pilot at 9E had a seniority number 2033. As of two days ago the most junior pilot had a seniority number of 1722. That's an average attrition of about 39 pilots a month. Since Jan 10, only 27 new hires on the list. 9E is bleeding when it comes to staffing and nothing seems to be stopping it. Management said we can keep as many 200s as we can staff but we cannot staff it. We parked the most 200s in any given month in August since the wind down began. 38 200s got completely refurbished interiors with hopes we'd fly them. I doubt that investment was done just to have them go to the desert. If we accelerate the parking of our 200s it just makes sense to fly those ASA could get those 38 airframes for the short term. I think DALs new plan long term could be to get rid of all 50 seaters despite how many are allowed by contract if all the DCIs can't get staff for them. Short term there is still need for them. Once again, purely speculative but to me it makes sense.
