Hottest:

(CP's are just like LCA, they typically are not in the know whatsoever and find out news just as we all do, via an email. Not discounting BH at all, but I find it hard to believe that a CP would have any clue about potential airplanes or huge news.)

Far fetched, but gaining momentum:

-Expanded AA operation in DFW, perhaps E-175s?

(I consider this one highly unlikely since an E-175 program would have to be announced by Sept 30 for us to have ANY chance to be ready for Summer 2015. Not out of the question, but it's an entire new fleet type, and if certain Training Dept pilots were going to school on the
E-175, we would know by now.)

Extremely unlikely:

-Skywest needs help in LAX with their AA operation, perhaps L-ASA will lend a hand?

(Yes, I heard this...and like you I had to do a double take to it's absurdity.)

Titanic has a better chance of arriving in New York than the following:

-We will begin a flow with Fedex.
(I literally heard this in the DTW crew room and LOL'd as soon as I heard it. The nonsense people make up is mind blowing...and yes the CA who said this said it with a straight and ultra serious face.)

If we're getting new airframes why would they come from 9E? Is 9E literally imploding upon itself? The rumors indicate that they are having a huge problem staffing...but honestly, I want proof in the form of a 9E seniority list from 1/2014 to the most recent one showing
A: Attrition and B: New hire classes for me to fully believe their staffing debacle.

I hope that if any new airframes come to L-ASA that it is not at the cost of another pilot group.
I'm not going to post our seniority list, but I can tell you that the last union email concerning staffing said that we are at a net loss of over 300 pilots for the year.
"For the month of August, a total of 45 pilots resigned with the effective date of their resignations occurring in August (this total does not include pilots who have submitted their resignations in August, and whose last day will be later than August 31). That total includes 25 Captains (15 of whom are going to DAL) and 20 First Officers (none of whom are going to Delta). This brings the total number of resignations effective so far this year to 332 pilots (203 Captains and 129 First Officers)."
