Just spent 2 1/2 months in NYC. I actually leave tomorrow morning to head back to Chicago.

The best way to get a crash course of the city is to do a double decker bus tour. There are 4 or 5 different tours but you can get a pass for all of them at a cheaper rate than individually. The nice thing is that if you want to get off and see a particular area, you can, and just hop on a later bus. They are all over and run about every 10 to 15 mins.
If you decide to go to the top of any building, forget the Empire State and go to the top of Rockefeller Center. You get the view of the Empire State Building and lower Manhatten, then on the other side you get Central Park.

Forget the pizza. It sucks here. The only real pizza is in Chicago!! But McSoreleys is definitely worth a visit.
