After hearing of a few American Eagle pilots who were on flowthrough to AA being fired before they finished training due to poor performance I would think it would play out the same at Delta. They were guaranteed a job too, but you still need to pass training.
Don't know about AA, but Delta's training is really not set up that way. In the interest of efficiency, we've got DGS instructors who are outsourced, then we have Flight Instructors who are FO's (well thought of and smart, but not oriented with the horsepower to go firing new hires). Typically only checking events bring out Line Check Airmen (and women) and APDs.
Simply put, an applicant can expect Delta to act with good faith. In training everyone has a good attitude and does their best to help the new hire.
