That is just not true. Lets look objectively at the facts.

In 1998 ALPA removed alter ego language from our Admin Manual at the behest of the Delta MEC so as to avoid ALPA compelling mergers with express carriers.

In 1999 several meetings were held. Delta codeshare carriers met to sign a resolution in support of C2K. At that meeting Chuck Giambusso stated he was against a merger with ASA because pilots from the military would not want to start their civilian careers in an RJ, which would reduce Delta's appeal to new hires. As the group tried to craft a unity resolution the frustration boiled over between Giambusso and Arnold.

At the 2000 Board of Directors meeting the ASA / Comair PID was modified from the floor and failed ... none of the mainline carriers wanted these mergers.

At no time did a couple of crew room blow hards thwart a merger.

Slowplay, Sailing and Alpha will be along in a minute to explain that you and I are both wrong and that MANAGEMENT would have fought us on any merger attempt. They claim to be first party witnesses.

I would hope we could let our past be our past and agree that permitting alter ego air carriers (an airline within and airline) like Endeavor is bad for Delta pilots.
