We can't compare FO salarys to the entire scale average of other jobs. Most every job on earth starts at lower pay for the first few years than later in your career. Even the NFL has a rookie salary structure.
I would of agreed with your statement back when FOs were hired with 250 TT. However, in today's environment it takes 2-3 years just to obtain the ATP minimums... 2-3 years of entry level position pay and then 2-3 more years at the regionals with compensation of entry level, that's .... If a job requires ATP license, it is no longer entry position job and the compensation should be as such!
I am not even speaking about the costs associated with obtaining all the licenses as compared to becoming a police officer or a teacher.
