Herk,
If you voted for it in '12, you'd vote for it again today.
Nope. I voted for it in '12...AND I would do so again if I had a magic time machine. You focus on numbers (which weren't too bad anyway) but forget some of the other improvements (to be fair we also had some concessions). The best improvement was a permanent increase to the reserve guarantee, and the fact that reserves with vacation, mil leave etc, have their own "personal" reserve guarantee. That more than made up for the possibility to fly a reserve to ALV+15 (though to be fair, that was a needless concession).
"Deserve" what a lame word choice.
Not lame at all. Our company is even more wildly profitable than 2-3 years ago, and I won't vote for a pay increase that might have been palatable in 2012 but won't be in 2015/16.
For all the regular yes voters out there, the difference between a yes and a no is that with a no, you actually push the no button. The universe will not separate at the seams when this is done.
Your point is a good one. Voting no will not put DAL out of business tomorrow, but voting yes doesn't mean that we are forever fools and locked into poverty for life. One quote I once heard and liked was "this week's 'crisis' is next week's barely remembered footnote." I remember riding the crew van once with a guy who was absolutely convinced that our recently ratified C2K was the worst agreement imaginable, and he was going to quit ALPA because of it. I believe he is now a 777 captain (no, not you Timbo).
Everybody should fill out the survey, stay engaged with their reps, study whatever TA is put in front of us...but if the TA deserves a "no", then for cryin' out loud, push no.
You better believe it.
