Has anyone here been through the TSA security clearence process recently?? I have just received my permanent residence status here in the US and am now wanting to start my flight training.
Im looking into doing a fast paced program incorporating the PPL, IR and MEL all in one however when i read through the rules and regulations etc it says i can only apply for one at a time. Has anyone else done anything similar to what i am wanting to do and had to go through the TSA process if you have can you explain how it went for you? Did reappyling for each additional certificate slow things down at all??
If anyone has been through this and has some answers that would be great.

At our 141 school, we have to give a TSA endorsement to each student before they begin flight training. We require an original birth certificate, and another form of government ID. The chief instructor gives the endorsement. I'm not sure what you mean about each rating slowing you down; however, if I've interpreted the rule right, you would have to present proof of citizenship or legal status before flight training begins. You should definitely check with your school. If it's a small FBO, they may not have dealt with this before and you might have to talk with the FSDO. A larger school probably has a procedure for your circumstance.
