I like your "joke" about the mainline FAs. I made a bit over 6 figures last year as a CRJ Captain, and I'm quite comfortable with my QOL. How much did your FAs make? How much did you make for that matter?
RJDC is sooooo 10 years ago...

I made six figures as an RJ CA as well for the ~4 years I was in the left seat. The earning potential however is far, far higher at a legacy than a topped out commuter pilot. Factor in job security, benefits, 401k contributions, variety of flying, equipment, even treatment by staff and passengers etc. and you just can't even begin to compare the two.
QOL? I worked 6 days in Sept, and 7 in Aug. That is QOL. A topped out ASA co-pilot would make $42,000 a year at guarantee for the same. This is your idea of "high paying"?
I was talking to one of our F/As this last trip, they make an average of $2,600 a month handing out credit cards (around $30k yearly). Not too shabby for some side income.
