Line pilots don't get to pick what they fly. Management picks what we fly. While most of us, myself included, would prefer to fly for mainline, we can't until they call. They won't call until we have the right mix of recency and experience. If we quit we won't have recency, which means they won't call. See how that works? I you have a real suggestion that might work instead of this path that I happen to be on which has been successful for a few of thousand guys.

As I stated above, I don't have an answer. Sorry! In the late 60's when they had a shortage of pilots United actually trained the pilots from 0 time!!!

Can you believe that! Anyway, not trying to beat you up just trying to give you a different prospective! 25 yrs ago 90% of the flying was done via Majors now it's about 60%. Yes, the Majors gave it up however, the Commuters picked it up!! So BOTH pilot groups are GUILTY!!
