My point that was lost on everyone is when I was in your position they were starting to bring up the concept of training contracts. I told my employer that I would not sign a training contract and that I would resign! Did I think my lone action would change anything? NO! But, I could look myself in the mirror and know I wasn't part of the problem!! But, if EVERYONE said NO then things would change. Fortunately, I think things are beginning to change. I'm not posting this to make people mad, I'm just trying to get them to think out of the box.
Most of us want the flying to be taken back to mainline because we want to move on from regional hell. Unfortunately for those who didn't go the military route, this has become the stepping stone. If more aircraft are outsourced due to a relaxation of scope once again, then we will be stuck at our respective regional. I'm glad Delta is leading the charge in taking back some of that flying but guess what? If APA relaxes scope and allows more outsourcing what do you think will happen to the other carriers? Yeah you can blame the regional pilots for working where they do but outsourcing starts with you! By the way just FYI since you are on an XJT thread, we are not seeing any growth and probably won't for the existence of the company. We actually said NO (don't have to go back too far in history for it) to a concessionary contract. If the flying gets shifted to another regional guess who decides that?
