Default ICAO sic type rating requirement

Hey all. I have a question I'm researching on a bit of a time crunch. I couldn't find a thread here on the subject.

Situation: I obtained the SIC only privilege for a business jet via the FAR 61.55 method, for a job which will fly soon to Europe.
I've been in/out of S. America without a problem, but Europe is a new one...

Question: does this meet the pilot requirements for the ICAO SIC type rating rule?

I have found a couple of articles online stating that the FAA has filed an exception, it seems to not be enforced too much (which I am skeptical of), and that the SIC privilege only type (FAR 61.55) is what the FAA recommends and will suffice.

So, is this allowed and will I have no problem or am I setting myself up for some trouble on the ground in Europe?

BTW I am already aware if the need to have the International Ops training completed.

Thanks in advance
