HOM and TDY, mean virtually the same thing as far as you’re concerned. Being junior you will get 10 days off, and you will be sent all over the system. I’ve heard HOM referred to as; Home Base and Home Basing. It’s just a designation on paper so to speak. It mimics what they do anyhow: TDY, or junior assigned which rolls into a forced out of base reserve, for any non-disclosed amount of time. The words are meaningless, as we don’t have a contract that clearly defines what these things are.
And you will be given very little written guidance from management as well. They’re petrified to comment to anything in a written format, because they suffer from what the medical community has termed, chicken $hit-itis.
