Chicago folks. The family just moved away from me being able to drive to dtw, back to flying to work. The commuter hotels are cheap and easy but dtw pairings are completely uncommutable on one end, if not both. Been watching ORD lines and they seem a lot better with respect to commuting and the base is growing faster. What are people using for commuter hotels and what do they run a night?
My "go to" place in ORD when commuting there was Best Western. Shares the shuttle with only one other hotel, is close to ORD and is a little over $50 out the door. Has a bar and restaurant and a family style restaurant attached to the hotel so now going outside when its 10 degrees. Ask for the renovated rooms on the first floor.
The quality inn might be a couple of dollars cheaper but not nearly as nice. Would do in a pinch if you need it.
The Four Points is nicer still but a little more expensive. It was about $60. The bad thing about this place is there is no place to eat nearby.
