FWIW I am glad Sparky gets the upper pay band. We should end up with a very large fleet of them eventually so I am happy that aircraft gets paid more than it otherwise should. We should all benefit from that decision one day.
For now .. Pay bands appeared in one contract, they can disappear in the next. The company doesn't care one way or the other .. to them, it's a question of total cost that matters.
