If you're looking for an EWR (or NY) base, you NEED cancellation pay. United cancels on a whim, especially in EWR. Crediting 100 hours a month means nothing when winter weather/thunderstorms/runway construction/winds/GDP cancels 30 hours and you don't get paid for it. Without cancellation pay you have the potential to lose thousands per year.
Why are you crediting 100 hours? That could be karma working its magic. Most of the time you get reassigned and then you are pay protected for the original credit of the trip, however most never mention that. No it's not what it should be but at least it's something that will save your pay most of the time.
