I'm not really talking about scope. Take Delta and Alaska as an example. Seperate airlines that code share. What would stop a new airline from starting up with 737s and code sharing with DL? What would prevent a regional from going it alone ala Independence, getting 737s and code sharing with Delta?
Not a scope issue, just code sharing with another domestic airline that flies narrow bodies at regional wages. I would not put it past mgmt to try a scheme like that to squeeze every last penny in profit at the expense of our careers.
I hope there is language in the contracts that prevent this or will be with the next round of CBAs.
