I struggle with the idea of crewdawg calling himself normal. If your in the military your not normal and your app actually rises very high to the top of the list. When you put military on your app it really stands out to delta. The fact that your military and flying a regional is exactly the guy they are looking for. You might have some other things on your app that helped but for a civilian OTS looking for an interview, these credentials will not even come close to getting you an interview. 50% of all new hires are from the military, that's a lot of guys and the other 40% are from SSP/flow. That leaves the rest of us all fighting for the last 10% and that makes for some stiff competition.

Delta has said over and over that it is not who you know but what is on your app that will get you the job. I have met both VP's for Delta, two chief pilots know me by name, I have gotten personal emails for AK, I have met one of the application screeners , talked to 4 recruiters and 2 pilots that do the interviews and I can tell you it doesn't matter who you know. United hires based on who you know but delta is all about your application.

I doubt you will find someone who has been hired recently this year that is a civilian and not flow/SSP with a 3.0 GPA. The only other exemption is if your dad works for delta or your did a internship. It's not a crap shoot and to make a statement that delta randomly pulls from the bottom, defeats the purpose. Don't let crewdawg fool you, he actually has exactly what Delta is looking for.
