You might have some other things on your app that helped but for a civilian OTS looking for an interview, these credentials will not even come close to getting you an interview. 50% of all new hires are from the military, that's a lot of guys and the other 40% are from SSP/flow. That leaves the rest of us all fighting for the last 10% and that makes for some stiff competition.
My apologies, It was never my intention to fool anyone. I should have lead my initial statement with half of my time being military. I was trying to get across that guys with a few blemishes on their record could still get a call, I guess I underestimate the mil portion. I was not aware of the percentages. My interview group was 50/50 civilian (non-ssp) vs mil, and many of the civilians were regional F.O.s...one as young as 27 (non-intern, with no big connections, tickets). I just figured the percentages we're more in line with that.

So I guess for the military guys on here, you have a better idea of what can get calls. Many consider the idea of going to the regionals and are not sure if it's helpful. In my case, think it most definitely did help. As a mil guy goes, I am normal...most guys getting hired are IPs with quite a bit more time in the jet than I. I know lots of highly qualified mil guys, who are not getting the call. Don't scoff the regionals, low pay for sure but it's a great experience and I learned a lot!
