No loophole. Just people living up to their end of a bargain.
Welcome aboard!!
Additionally, we all get the benefit of the flow down if ever needed. Even if its never used during a downturn, there is a strong cost based deterrent to progressively flushing and filling an entire seniority list of yet another fleet type, especially since it would be in dynamic real time progression for the duration of any potential furlough.
They'd go from a cost competitive feeder to an exponential cost supernova overnight, likely with no way to staff the virtual "airline" once recalls began, so recalls would have to be accelerated to shift more flying to mainline, which would exacerbate the problem.
We get a benefit from the flows for sure. Its a huge deterrant for furloughs and displacements and that benefits us all, as well as significant job security for the most junior among us.
