That's asinine. If marketing is going to be left running the show, they can't be allowed to make massive, easily avoidable, mistakes like that. They can't just flip out every second flat out guessing and making panic decisions too late to do anything about, and then be wrong about them. They need to be reigned in and FltOps needs to be given more authority in the decision making matrix or at the very least given unrestricted access to their think tank day trader boiler room meetings.

Um, no.

RFP, it was asked that comments stay off the forums however decision should be released 4 to 5 days after BOD meeting.
The exact details of make and model, pricing and exact delivery dates is fun to know but not really important, although I'd be interested if the 787's in consideration are in addition to the 2020 deliveries or if we made them rebid their own existing 2020 deliveries

The real question is will the net result be block hour and widebody seat positive?

Of course they are getting some. No one disputes that. But will they be fewer large wide bodies flying to CDG/AMS/LHR in a plan that requires fewer DL pilots, or will be it DL widebody pilot growth?

Bigger planes are great, but ONLY if they bring an equal or greater number of jobs to the table. That is the big question WRT this and any other so called widebody RFP.
