Agreed with above...that place is a mess. Agents don't give a flying-fig. The other day we were still boarding and fueling at departure time plus ten minutes, with no extenuating circumstances (other birds, Wx, etc.) When we got to ATL (not that it's run much better) the agent looked at us and said "really...late cuz you waited for a jumpseater??"
We investigated her comment to find the the IAD agent had indeed coded the late departure..Flight crew waiting on a jumpseater.
Unreal but just a heads up there for you guys, not a bad idea to see how your late depature out of IAD is coded. I'll fall on a sword for quite a bit, but not an agent with a bad attitude and zero sense of urgency.
