Websters defines a job as a task done for pay. A career as the activity one pursues as one's life work. In other words, a career (life's work) doesn't need to involve being paid. So, recommending it as a job/occupation/vocation/profession vs recommending it as a "career" are two different things entirely.
I would not recommend it as a long term strategy for making steady income as a job/profession, BUT, I would recommend being a pilot as part of one's "life work", if that makes any sense to you.
