ALPA is still trying to sell Spirit pilots a disability policy who's benefits would be negated by a policy that already exists also as part of your compensation. The Spirit policy will subtract anything you get from another source of income. Its a dirty trick.
Not entirely true. I have the ALPA short term and the Spirit provided long term does not consider the ALPA plan when calculating your disability value, as it's a 'self-paid' plan. You will receive both. Now that said, any other types of compensation you get, the Spirit plan will deduct....for example: state disability.
