Gosh we've come full circle back to this argument. I can't wait for that same person to come back on here and say that "the XJT MEC had the agreement in place, but didn't execute it, so it was never an official MOU..."
Nevets and HOU757 are correct. Here's how the process went: In Fall 2010, right before ASA began hiring again, ASA offered XJT furloughees to resume work at ASA with the option to return to XJT at their original XJT seniority at some point in the future. When ASA had a furlough scare in 2011, an agreement was made to allow ASA pilots to transfer to the ERJ at the bottom of the list, but kept their longevity for pay etc. So yes, there were MOUs covering this scenario and it went both ways.
