A couple of years ago I analyzed our bid package. 1/3 of our bid package were 4 day red-eyes that paid between 17 and 20 hours. Granted that was the worse month that I had seen, but you get the point. The guys near the bottom that were working 16 days for between 68-72 hours now will get at least 84 for the same flying!

Amen! I don't commute by definition but I do because I fly out of the greater LA area which means I have to cover bases that I have to often drive into the night before. What thrills me is that all of the previous 3 days the started with an overnight that paid 10.3 now pay 15.45. HUGE!
I'll pick up a hotel for that...hell yeah. It can get better but, Holy Cow, its much better than it was.
