I have contacts at ALL the majors, freight too and, I am getting the impression they don't want guys/gals with too much experience. 5-7000 hours, a degree and some PIC turbine time. Much more than that and "You are an old dog"! 45 years of age seems to be a cutoff as well.
That explains why the face-to-face meet with a line-pilot at a recent job fair stated twice: 'you have plenty of time', maybe meaning:
'You have TOO much time'... Surmising now that- 15,000+hrs & 50-something age won't get me an interview anytime in the near future.
