I was absolutely stunned when I picked up the phone. Anyway, I have read this entire thread and here are my questions to those who might be willing to give me their opinions:

1. During the interview, they will inevitably ask "Do you have applications out to other airlines?" and the follow up "Will you go if they call?" These are the questions I fear the most and the ones that will cost me the job. Of course I have other apps out and I won't lie about it. These seem to be the gotcha questions for us younger and more ambitious regional airline pilots who just want to continue moving our careers forward. I sincerely want to work at Frontier (esp after reading about everyone's great experiences) and will gladly hang my hat if they hire me. So my question is what would you say and what do you think they want to hear from someone who is in their mid twenties? Imo it would will be very difficult to convince them of my sincerity due to my age (earning potential at a legacy vs LCC and all that), plus I didn't apply right when I had the mins due to personal life issues that distracted me from furthering my career.

2. Does anyone know what class this round of interviews is for? Maybe November? Or later?

3. How is seniority determined within 1 class? I'm assuming by age

4. Anyone interviewing on this Friday want to have dinner Thursday evening? (PM me)

5. Any recommended reading (besides this website) to educate myself more about Frontier?

6. Is Chicago closing or not??

Thanks in advanced for your input!

Out of curiosity, where are you from? I had heard a rumor that Frontier is looking to hire pilots who live further East. In my class, virtually all of us were from Colorado.

But yeah, Chicago is growing and becoming an all ORD base, no more dual base with MDW. Expect to see a new East Coast domicile soon.

I believe you are interviewing for the NOV class. Seniority is based on age in the class, oldest is most senior.

Read up on ULCC business models. Read news stories about Frontier by searching in Google News. Read the press releases on the FlyFrontier.com website.

We are transitioning into an Ultra Low Cost Carrier, and you should be very familiar with the pros and cons of that business model.

As far as the other apps questions goes; don't lie. They do not expect that you only applied to one major. They want people who are going to stay. Its very costly to hire and train someone who immediately leaves for United. Tell them that yes you applied to other airlines, but you are really glad that Frontier called first. Tell them you believe in the ULCC business model, and you think Frontier has a very bright future and you want to be a part of it. -- Or something like that.. Lol.

Good Luck!
