Some guys are very good at this, but even I have become fairly good at making it through a 4-day trip with buying very little food.

I bring some stuff from the deli in a grocery store, like a pasta salad and a pound or so of tuna salad and some crackers. I also bring cheese and yoghurt. These obviously need to be kept cold. Lots of granola bars.

I have a bag from Ebags which fits on the rails of my PNT rollaboard. The bag will pay for itself in about 2 trips.

But the true unforeseen bonus of bringing your own food is not having to really hustle to stand in line for really crappy food at airports. You fly in and have a 30 minute turn and are starving. Not a worry if you have your own chow along.
HOLY SH!T man,, 1 POUND OF TUNA!!!!
