I'm confused. I thought one big reason we didn't need to leave ALPA is that ALPA never interfered with Delta pilots...the implication being, Delta pilots can get whatever they want from ALPA. Obviously not the case.
The takeaway is, Delta's pilots' clout with ALPA is nowhere near what we've been led to believe. The Delta pilots' agenda in this case was derailed by another legacy's pilot group (with plenty of help from most regional pilot groups, who have the most to loose if Delta pilots pay lower dues).
Good thing we subsidize pilot groups whose agendas are no aligned with ours. Yay, ALPA.
